Where is he now?

After several years away (college, traveling, living in Boston)

I returned home to the California Bay Area, where I’m now living.

In the winter of 2007 I created my 7 River Riddles book, which includes illustrations drawn from photos I’d taken while guiding in Idaho.

I scanned, typeset, printed, bound and signed an edition of 349 books, to sell for the holidays.  I still have a handful of this limited edition available for sale, but have turned to the world of affordable on-demand printing for the future.  You can look at my Bookstore for product details.

After my holiday book sale I began working for my father’s puppy training companies.  Initially hired to edit a new training DVD, I have since become integrally involved in bringing Sirius Puppy Training and James & Kenneth Publishers into the twenty-first century, mostly via our free dog training website, DogStarDaily.com.  It’s also been a wonderful chance for me to put some of my video editing and graphic design skills to use.

In the fall of 2008, Trina and I moved into the house where I grew up, which my father had been renting out for the past twenty years to a series of pretty messy tenants.  Together with our housemate Cody, we keep a cozy home with lots of home-grown veggies, home-cooked food and home-brewed beer.

We’ve fixed up the front stairs, added fresh paint, new tile, a dual purpose book-shelf staircase, a giant bamboo box and renovated the creepy dilapidated shed out back into a mojito hut with a sunroof, a bar and a

freshly seeded lawn.

Since living at 65th St I’ve completed my first couple of oil paintings since college, as well as self-published

Gordy McGranite Grapples with Gradients.

a children’s book about calculus that I wrote

and illustrated with my good friend Patrick Hamilton.

With the help of CreateSpace, I’m able to have my books printed and bound on-demand to either sell myself or through Amazon.

Last year I finished writing, editing and illustrating

BANG! The Universe Verse: Book 1

which I have since self-published.  It’s the first in a three-part series of rhyming comic books that will explain the history of everything.  You can view it online or purchase it as a paperback.

I am currently working on editing and illustrating

Book 2 which will deal with the origin of life on Earth.
