Over the summer solstice of 2009 I went to Alaska.

With 20 hours of daylight we went hiking on a glacier

then backpacked into the Alaskan wilderness for 5 days of roughing it. 

Alright, so we hiked into a public cabin along an ATV trail,

but we did ford a couple of rivers and saw only 3 other people during the whole trip. 

And at least one of the day hikes was legitimately rough.
